The Science Behind a Sustainable Plant Palette Pre-registration required
Thursday September 23rd at 6:30 pm
Ayers Hall, L.A. County Arboretum & Botanic Garden
Sustainable plant palettes take into consideration water
conservation and use, but where do "sustainable" plants (native
and non-native) come from? What is a "California Native" plant
anyway? How do our plant choices affect native plant, bird,
insect, and fish populations? How does the nursery industry
impact this debate, and does where and how the plants are grown
matter? Can we plant for climate change and, if so, how? These
questions and more will be discussed in this lively, moderated
roundtable. Questions from the audience will also be entertained.
