FREE tour of Arlington Garden in Pasadena
Thursday September 23rd at 09:30 am
Arlington Garden
In 2005 a crew of workers of the City of Pasadena and a few
volunteers planted trees and officially transformed a weedy vacant
lot into a Mediterranean climate garden! The Arlington Garden in
Pasadena hopes to inspire visitors to break from the deeply embedded
tradition of water-thirsty gardening, and to embrace a new
paradigm of gardening in harmony with our Mediterranean climate.
Visitors have the pleasure of strolling through an Olive Allée,
meandering down an Arroyo Path, and meditating under the shade of
the Yoko Ono Wish Trees (a gift from Yoko Ono), all in one afternoon!
With its growing palette of native California plant communities, one
can experience the full sensory beauty of the California landscape and
the wildlife that it attracts.
