Lorene Edwards Forkner
Designer & author, Growing Your Own Vegetables
Lorene Edwards Forkner has been described as the "rock star of the Seattle gardening scene." Her award-winning display gardens in the 2003 and 2001 Northwest Flower & Garden Shows were well-received by the public and judges alike. For 13 years, Lorene was the owner and operator of Fremont Gardens, a small specialty nursery in Seattle that served a passionate gardening community throughout the greater Northwest. Today Lorene is a full-time freelance writer and part-time garden designer. Her two most recent titles, Growing Your Own Vegetables and Preserving the Harvest from Sasquatch Books were published in 2009. Lorene posts and pontificates about her garden, life and work on her blog at www.plantedathome.com.
