UC Santa Cruz Arboretum Fall Plant Sale

The UC Santa Cruz Arboretum will hold its annual fall plant sale on Saturday, October 10, 2015. Many drought tolerant and unusual plants from California, Australia and South African will be for sale. You will find plenty of unique varieties not found in nurseries. Fall is the favored time to plant just about anything in California. It is cooler now, the days are shorter and the rainy season is approaching to help plants establish roots and grow! Arboretum experts will be on hand to find plants to look beautiful in all gardens. Banksias are prominently featured this year. With their unusual flowers and colors and low water needs they are easy plants to grow in Santa Cruz. A short plant list is available on the event page. The complete plant sale list will be posted by October 1st.

The sale is held at the Eucalyptus Grove on High Street near the intersection of Western Drive and High Street. It is held in conjunction with the California Native Plant Society, the sale opens early (from 10 a.m. to noon) for members of either organization. Memberships can be purchased online before the sale or at the gate the day of the sale.
