Out with the Ivy

The process of ripping out the ivy, creating “structure” on the hillside with rocks, logs, and branches, and selecting, placing, planting, and observing the habits and growth of the native plants (and the animals they attract) has been so captivating as to be almost hypnotic, a recurring dream of randomness and symbiosis, a colorful hillside come to life of its own accord, as if no one had ever touched it.
