Earth Day at Pleasant Hill Garden

Enjoy an afternoon at the Pleasant Hill Instructional Garden with fun activities for kids and adults. Hear from local experts on topics such as composting, soil-water quality and conservation, beekeeping, garden pollinators, and gardening with native plants.  Take a free tour of the garden led by University of California Master Gardener, Monika Olsen.  Meet with local sustainable organizations including California Native Plant Society, Central Contra Costa SanitaryDistrict, Sustainable Contra Costa, Wild Birds Unlimited, DVC Horticulture Club, Foundation for Pleasant Hill Education Green Team, and more.  Bring your smartphone or device for fun, interactive games in the Garden including the iNaturalist app created by the California Academy of Sciences.  Also PHIG (Pleasant Hill Instructional Garden) is a stop on the Amazing Race, fundraiser for Foundation for Pleasant Hill Education that same afternoon.  Please sign up now for the garden tour.
